Bad Gas..(mixed with diesel)

last week my evo broke down after i had a full tank of gas at one of Texacos in Nashville, TN. and today dealer called and told me that there were some diesel mixed with gas after it was analyzed...they told me that spark plugs were damaged...and have to flush the whole fuel system..and everything...estimate came out to be around $670 which i think is too much...and they said if other parts are damaged it could cost more...
u think it could damaged the internals of engine?? arrhhhh
they told me that i have to take the action against the gas station...
all the mess...

yeah other than flushing the system there might be a chance of having to replace your injectors... but that might be extreme... friend of mine had to get new inhectors and stuff because his mom used his car and put diesel in it instead of regular gas

It will also ruin your cat. But that depends on how much diesel actually went through it.

I saw something in the paper about a refinery down south that released defective gasoline that contained a super abundance of sulfur. I think it was Texaco but I'm not sure. The impact on the car is to coat the working parts of the gas gauge tank sender.

Going after the gas station legally could be more hassle than it is worth.

I'd stop by with the bill and talk with them. Let them know what happened. Maybe they will be helpful.

Gas stations have insurance coverage for things like this, if you can prove your case to the owner/head manager you'll get reimbursed.
