strange sound

When I am in gear and I let off the gas I can hear a strange sound that goes away when I hit the gas again. Also if I am in neutral I can hear the sound but if I push the clutch in then it goes away. It's not loud it's a quiet but consistant sound. Is this normal or is something wrong? Everything feels ok it's just a noticable sound. My evo has about 2500 miles on it.

Probably your throw out bearing. It's common, most dealers will tell you not to worry about unless it gets worse.

I'm getting my oil changed tomorrow should I make a big deal out of this or wait?

It's the throw out bearing on the Evo. Most of them do it. Mine does I have close to 8,800 mile's on mine.

Is this 'strange' sound something other than the documented deceleration noise that all evo8's have?
