Question Question about making a deposit

I have a few questions about making a deposit at the dealer for the evo.
1. When you make the deposit, can you specify which color and trim you want?
2. Will you be able to specify the price you want it at?
3. How much is the deposit usually?
4. Will you be able to get your deposit back in full if the dealer couldn't get the car you want, or you simply don't want to buy the car anymore?

Thanks

1. - no, the dealers don't know what colors they will be getting, what will be available
2. - find a dealer that will not charge over msrp - and get it in writing
3. - all the dealers I called wanted $500
4. - yes, but I would be this depends on the dealer - get it in writing

1. When you make the deposit, can you specify which color and trim you want?

There are no trim levels known except just EVO VIII. From there, you can say sunroof or no sunroof. But there are no promises.

2. Will you be able to specify the price you want it at?

No. MSRP is the agreement price, which is not known yet.

3. How much is the deposit usually?

It depends on the dealer. $500 would be the minimum. Some places want $1000+

4. Will you be able to get your deposit back in full if the dealer couldn't get the car you want, or you simply don't want to buy the car anymore?

It too depends on the dealer. If you can get it in writing that you will get your deposit back, then excellent. Most are non-refundable.
