So a tree fell and hit my Evo...

While on the way home from enjoying a 4-1 win by my Cardinals yesterday my dad gets a call from home. All I hear is "What happened?...On Dan's car?" So immeadiately I'm freaking out and my dad tells me that a tree fell and hit my car in the driveway. So here we are, 5 mins. away from home and I'm envisioning a 100 foot tall oak laying on the roof of my car. Luckily, it wasn't that bad. My brothers were at my house and my sister in laws van, which happened to be parked next to the Evo, got it the worst. What was really scary is that my 6 year old niece was actually in the van when the tree hit it, but she had just moved to the front seat to grab a cd. From the looks of it, the Evo's trunk and rear bumper are screwed. The driver's side taillight is cracked and there are scratches on the wing and on the driver's side skirt. It was our neighbor's tree so their homeowner's insurance will have to cover it I guess. Enjoy the pictures!

f***! That sucks! Be sure to check the whole car real good many times. I had debris from shelf failure in my garage on a previous vehicle. Believe me it may look like only rear damage but check it over REAL good before insurance claim. Be downright nit-picky.

Three words: Home owner's insurance. Happened to my subie not once, not twice, but three times during the 90's.

The first year that I lived in my house, a huge branch on my neighbors property broke off and fell on my property. It ripped the phone line off my house and left a huge mess. I called my insurance company and she called hers. It turned out that since it was a "act of god" it was my insurance that needed to cover the damage.
Luckily the damage wasn't bad and I was able to fix it myself.

Hopefully all will work out for you.

That sucks. Good thing about the trunk lid, it's compatable with all Lancers so it should be reparied fast. It's about $380 plus paint and labor. Have insurance cover it.

Glad to hear everybody was okay. Sorry about the ride, thats super ****ty! Like others said, be really nit picky, make sure you find even the slightest scratch fromt he tree and make them re-paint. Good luck with everything, hope it turns out and looks brand new once again.
