I lived in Japan for 10 years, speak, read and write Japanese, have a business background and have a good friend in Japan who is deep in the auto business. Sort of adds up to something potentially interesting, dontcha think?

We've been talking about starting a service to help people in North America get the JDM parts they want for their cars.

So I have some questions:

Do people really want JDM parts?

Are there enough people out there looking for parts to justify a small business?

What parts do you guys want?

I'd love to get all your thoughts on JDM parts!

Yes we do, but u cant mark up the prices 200% like other people in the business like your intrested in do.

depends... are you talking about OEM JDM? or aftermarket JDM

 

truthfully, majority of us want JDM parts......

 

Is 199% OK? Just kidding. Point well taken. Who marks up prices that much? That sucks! Guess we'll have to do something about that!

You do have competition for JDM parts for the Evo. Bulletproof Automotive and Gruppe-S both sell JDM products to the US market. Gruppe-S sells them for really good prices, so I would find them a bit tough to beat.

 

Whatever people want that we can get our hands on. I suspect people want OEM stuff? I guess it would depend on Mitsu/Subaru/Honda, etc. policy on this stuff.

By "DECAL, THREE" do you mean three decals, or is that the part name?

Thanks for the info. Gruppe-S looks good, but competition is always good... Anyhow, I think we'd be going for a more boutique, hard to find, unqiue item approach at first to get into the market, so we might not be competing directly anyhow.

I suspect people would appreciate being able to get that "special part."

 

How about the ralli art carbon fiber dash inserts without the crazy price?
