Pillar Gauge Pod visibility?

For those who have a pillar gauge pod on the left side of the car, does it further increase your pillar blindspot? I'm looking at the 2nd one on this page. Actually, the 3rd one seems like the angle of the pods wouldn't cover your view much. Correct me if I'm wrong:

i have them.. yea i gotta admit at times it blocks my view while tryin to make a turn.. i just have to look around it a little so its not THAT bad, but i could see how that might slow you down a little during a race...

I have a Faze pillar pod and two Faze gauges. It really doesn't block your vision if you install it at the right height for you- and you can always lean your head to the right side a bit. Actually, if you corner hard enough to the left, inertia sort of does that for you!

Seriously, I did a night autocross Tuesday and they were not a problem at all.

Did you cutout a hole for the tweeter or cover it?

I have the one manufactured by Lotek, at www.gaugepods.com... these are the one's that lancershop sells. You can get them cheaper direclty from this website. I have the grey, 2 gauge pillar pod and I love it. The view is a little more obstructed, but I went with the 52mm guages to keep it to a minimum. The color is pretty close and yes I do have a cutout for the tweeter. You actually have to cut the tweeter cover off the stock panel, or cut under it actually with an exacto knife. Then just glue it onto the pillar cover. Looks good. My screw covers don't stay on the screws though so I am just going to paint the screw heads Grey. I will take a pic tonight a post it... although if you look there are already some posted on the forums somewhere. I definately recommend these pods, they are well built, keep the guages in plain view, and look bad *** from outside the car, downright intimidating!

unfortunately I don't think the ones from lancershop are direct replacements for the whole A-pillar.... I think you have to drill and attach the pod setup TO the stock A-pillar.... does anyone know of any A-pillar replacements? It would be nice to not have to do anything to my stock setup....

yeah they are covers, not replacements. Other than the screws you cannot tell that it is covering up the stock pillar, the fit is seemless. working on pics right now.

Looks nice! Thanx a lot. Was it hard to transfer the tweeter speaker cover? I'm gonna put my order in for that pillar tonight, unless someone can convince me to get the autometer pillar.
