Unhappy Insurance help

My current insurance is about to finish in September. I'm looking for something a little cheaper. I have a friend that uses www.Grundy.com for his '98 Cobra. It's some kind of full coverage, no milage limit specialty insurance. He's paying $240 for a full year. He drives it daily.

I went to the Grundy site and they quoted me $536 for 1 year on my Evo 8. I'll be 24 in August. I have no points on my record. I put down $35,000 for the worth of my car.

When I called Grundy about the insurance, the lady on the phone told me that they couldn't insure my car because it's too new and they couldn't put a 2 year depreciation on it yet.

Anyone wanna chime in on this? I'm looking for a similar insurance to Grundy, but someone who can insure my car.

Hum, Grundy told me they did not consider the EVO a collector car, oh well. You just got to shop around for some no name insurance company. I ended up paying about 600/6mo for the EVO and my 94 Ford P/U. Thats with all the discounts: Own my home, married, no tix/accidents, old man, etc.

What's up 1BADSUV? Sorry, I have a habit of leaving my buddy list open when I'm not around. AIM sometime so we can talk. It's been a while. How've you been?

Scottybob,
That's weird that they told you that. Your insurance is not too bad either. I pay just over $900 for 6 months. That's single, no kids, 1 car & and I'm 23 until Aug, 17th.

Yeah Grundy and Haggerty were a collector / vintage car insurance company I thought.
I have my vette thru Haggerty. No mileage limitations but I had to prove its kept in a garage and also its not to be used for commuting to work, etc.

Do you own the car outright? If you have a loan, make sure you satisfy it's requirements for insurance coverages. I don't think the collectors insurance companies provide you with all that is required of a car with a loan.

Also, if you live in a State that requires uninsured motorist coverages, you might have problems getting insured by the collector car insurers.

You shouldn't be *****ing with just $536 a year. I just got me yellow evo last week.

At The insurance company:
THE INS. GUY: well here's your payment for every six month, $1740
ME: what the ****?
THE INS. GUY: well, yeah!
ME: can't it be any cheaper than this?
THE INS. GUY: well lets see how much you'll be paying if you are now 21?
THE INS. GUY: here it is, now its $900 every six month
ME: Wow that's a big different, almost half.
ME: Ok I'll take it.

Man go ***** somewhere else. haha j/k.
