Nice, but I already have a pillar-mounted Defi boost gauge which is way nicer than the VDO...can I get an EGT or A/F gauge in their kit instead of the boost gauge???

I think they look nasty. I'm planning on getting a new pod, and putting in the defi d series as well. Just putting a plate in front of the "old" stock radio location is just plan ugly. I seen this one pod on lancer shop that is pretty nice, 3 gauge holes, and fits over the ac controlls like stock. Little pricey though.

Also, does anyone know if it's hard to see these guages, since they get located so low on the console? Thanks
It has lights and goes on with the rest of the interior gauges, climate controls.

The installation of the 42 draft designs kit is not very difficult if you have basically wiring and mechanical ability....no special tools needed either. Allow yourself a few hours though to do it right. You will have to drain your oil obviously to install oil temp/oil pressure if you go that route.

Tweeker - you are intitled to your opinion. It looks really good in person.....if you want to spend $800 on gauges that's your business. The VDO gauges work well...are precise, and are reliable....not to mention you can pick just about any color you want as a backlight. For people not wanting to blow all their money on gauges and put it into performance it is certainly the way to go!

E-mail or call Evan I know he can set you up with whatever guages you want, you are not limited to his prebuilt solutions.

Tweeker: This is just one alternative for guages. I liked the gauge panel that gruppe-s is selling but $165 is a bit much for a plastic panel. I just wanted some quality gauges that were not going to break the bank, which is what I got. I guess I am not as concerned about the bling factor of the gauges just wanted something that worked. For the price of one Defi gauge I got all the gauges, panel, led's, wiring and senders which to me was a better deal. Everyone has their own opinion though and is entitled to it .

I had never hooked up any gauges and used the instructions from this website to get them hooked up. It is not that difficult but any decent shop should be able to hook them up for you and it will be cheaper then what the dealer is going to charge you for their gauges and install.

I got a pair of Defi D-Link series with the Gruppe S Gauge pod. I cant ask for anything more its just awsome. And you dont have to look at and gauges at the track put it on record and go. When you get back you can replay everything that happened on every gauge.

I also ordered a set of VDO gauges from Evan at 42 Draft Designs. We put together a panel with boost, oil pressure, and oil temperature.

However, I had some problems. First, the boost gauge rattles heavily over 15 psi of boost. Also, the gauge only goes up to 20 psi...which is fine for now (I'm still running stock boost) but will not be acceptable if I up the boost. Finally, the oil temp sensor doesn't fit the plug in the block.

So, overall I'm not very happy right now.

Emre: Just let Evan know your concerns he cannot help if you do not let him. My boost gauge goes to 25psi so I am not sure why yours only goes to 20 and I have no rattling at all, did you get the bracket hooked down tight? Oil temp sensor supposed to replace drain plug, is that why it does not fit? Just curious.

If I just want to change the back light of the factory guages with the red LEDs and swap places with the radio ... what would I need to order?

Should I just order 3 red LEDs (do I need the wiring kits?) and facotry relocation kit (wheres is it cheapest to order this btw?)

Thanks !

Yes, everything is bolted down properly. The buzzing sounds like it's coming from inside the gauge...so it might be defective or something. Not sure. I can't figure out why it only goes to 20. I guess it's not the right model he sent me.

I tried to fit it to one of the plugs in the block. Are you sure it's supposed to fit in the oil drain plug? That would be a major pain in the *** each time you need to change the oil.

its not a pain in the *** when you change oil...you simply slide the signal wire off the terminal and use a socket to get the plug off just like any other plug. It just has a 2nd function. It actually really great.

I think I know what you are talking about with the rattling. I think it is the gauge internals...the springs an what not. Mine did it for a bit then went away. I don;t think it is anything abnormal.
