My garage door fell on my evo

In the house which I rent, the manual one piece garage door fell out of its track when my girlfriend was closing the door. As a result, the garage fell about 2 feet onto the roof of my parked evo. Kind of ironic, since I bought a daily driver so that my car would be safe in the garage.

Needless to say, I was upset, since my landlord had promised a new garage door since the old door was corroded and due for a replacement. He claims that the track had never had a problem, but I suspect that as the door corroded, it started to sag and that probably increased the tension on the track. Anyway, 11 months into our lease, the garage door falls. Damage to the car is fairly superficial- some scratches on the left rear corner of the roof, and a dent at the base of the antenna. Good thing I don't have an MR. After some talking, he's picking up the tab for the repair- $457. I was upset with him, but I know that it isn't completely his fault and he's doing the right thing. Anyway, you guys probably want pics:

Man, that sucks. Order the MR vortex generator. It will cover that scratch up or have it resprayed from a pro. Don't try touch up paint. It will look worse.

Dayum. I hate it when the security guards where I work leave greasy fingerprints on my car when checking my trunk. I think they must sit in their little shack, eating fried chicken or deep dish pizza, or something.

I don't know what I'd do if someone or something put a scratch like that on my car. I think I'd kick my own @ss if I did it, even accidentally.

Looks like an easy fix, but I do feel you pain. Any time I see a shadow or dirtstain or anything on my baby I get super paranoid.

My house is 25yrs old, and until recently, still had the original garage doors and no openers. My wife had this habit of pulling the doors down from the outside, and one day she pulled he door down and one of the hinges gouged two parallel lines into my back bumper. *CARDIAC ARREST*. So I take it over to Millenium Autoworks (shameless plug) and while I'm talking to the owner about re-doing my bumper he chimes in with ... "and I'll fix that dent in your quarter panel for free". *MASSIVE STROKE*. fortunately the parameds were close by ...

So, $1500 later, two new garage doors, openers, and sensors. +$300 to redo my bumper.

I feel the burn ...

The vortex generator is a tempting idea... good thing the car's already being fixed or I'd be looking into covering the damage rather than repairing it....

It maybe the lighting, but it looks like the area around the antenna has been pushed down. You're lucky that was all the damage though. I've seen a lot worse damage done by a garage door...actually it wasn't the doors fault...it was just in the way.
