short shifter... warranty?

i've recently attained a new B&M short shifter... prior to attaining it... i've contacted various dealerships within the So. Cal area and had mixed results on my warranty... now i've come to you guys in the EvoM community... in all reality... will adding a short shifter void my warranty?

As long as you don't mess up anything in the tranny, linkages, you're ok with warranty issues. Mitsu warranty states that you can modify your car, install parts as long as any warranty claim/defect is not caused by the installed part or modification. That's why i installed the kartboy short-shifter, direct bolt-on, no cutting, drilling or trimming unlike the B&M that you have to modify/cut the shifter assembly/cage in order to attain the shortest shift throws.
