Unless you REALLY know exactly what your doing ordering from a machine shop can be very dangerous. They make parts according to the specs you give them. So if you don't know the exact type and number of every alloy metal you want used and if you don't know the exact specification for size tensil strength finish flattness and everything else about the part you want you could end up with major mechanical failure. You also have to be able to communicate all these specs in writting via autocad or other blueprint type format so they can read and understand your wants/needs any failure in communication could lead to faulty parts and posible failure of your drivetrain or other effected systems. Just a word of caution.

Good if you already have a sample. Bad if you want to make something from scratch or custom.
