Can someone tell me if i maybe did something wrong?

just the other day i was changing my oil and i used the dealer oil filter. i thaught it was screwd on wright it was obviously tight just when i thaught i was finished i start the car and the oil light came on, it turned out i lost all the oil from the filter. nothing happend to the car so i got back under tightend it and to make sure i filled it up with moble 10w30 (not synthetic) turnd it on for a few then draind the oil and filled it with the synthetic the car is running fine but dose anyone think something could get dameged cause of the non synthetic oil? oh and after the first time putting the synthetic oil it came out black as hell is that normal? thanx your help is vary appricated

Non-synthetic oil will not do any damage. Some people will drain the synthetic out when the car is new and use regular oil for the first 5,000 miles to break in the engine. I wouldn't tell the dealer, only because you woulnt want to give them an excuse to void your warranty. You could have left it in and no harm would have come. For some reason synthetic oil seems to get darker, mine is always black when I change it at 2,500 miles.

As long as you stoped the car right when you got the light on, and then changed the oil back to Synthetic then you will be the only one that knows your mistake. Better luck next time!
