What difference does it make?

Their price for a EVO VII (40k) does nothing to help the people with average incomes.

If 40k was in my price range for a vehicle, I would get an Audi S4.

I think that Mitsu is going to bring the EVO next year for under 30k.

The rich people with a collection of cars and a ton of money to throw around can get their EVO from those importers.

 

An S4 instead of an Evo?!?! You must be bloody crazy, or not know in the slightest what an Evo is about. If you prefer an S4 to an Evo, take some advice: Don't buy an Evo, cause it's nothing like an S4. It's a car that's raw to the bones with lots of tuning potential and without soothing leather interior. An Evo will outperform a S4 blindfolded. S4s are for hairdressers, I suggest you buy some cruiser instead of an Evo. For the money I paid for my Evo so far, I could have had an S4 and then some, but the thought never even crossed my mind.

 

i wouldn't say S4's are for hairdressers buddy. When my car was at it's peak it was making 375hp and 415ftlbs, aside from that i know of several local S4's that would eat EVO's without much effort. And also as they blow past your EVO, keep in mind that the driver is sitting in heated leather seats with Bose audio and navigation.

It has got nothing to do with an s4, an m3 or something like that.
I believe that a 375bhp s4 is nice, but a standarde evo vi accelerates more than an rs4, which is 380bhp!

And then if you talk about braking and handling, the evo is more like a competition car.
You don't need all this in straight lines but in backcountry tight road.

 

Buddy, you obviously have no idea what an Evo is capable of. My mate has a 420bhp (digitec-tuned) RS4 and he's not able to keep up with my measly 350bhp. O.k., topspeedwise I run out of gearing at about 250km/h, but below 160km/h, no chance. That is only in straight line, once the corners come, the cars aren't even comparable. The standard Evo will accelerate as hard as a standard RS4 up to about 100mph, but handling wise no contest here either. Admittedly I run Gr.N Proflex suspension, but I guarantee you, that no S4 will be able to keep up on track given that both cars have exactly the same drivers. Drive an Evo and you'll understand very quickly. My mate with RS4 has no problem admitting that the Evo is faster point to point, but also quite harsh. Without even considering what I wrote above, calculate the power-to-weight ratio.

I think we all need to just stop for a second, take a deep breath, and think about what it means to declare SHENANIGANS.

You see, what I hate is people claiming that S4 can beat Evo. Either they have smoked themselves retarded or are retarded.
If you start giving me numbers about 475HP S4 and blah blah. Look at the cost, a Mclaren can beat the Evo with a bit effort. But the car costs a cool mil too. If you spend a million on an Evo, I bet that mclaren will be running for its money. Same with S4, you can go buy a 100k car and claim that it can beat a 30K car. Spend 70k on the evo and we will see you at the track.

 

I wouldn't go as far as comparing the Evo to a McLaren F1, but otherwise your completely right. An Evo will beat the Mclaren off road, but I'm afraid on dry tarmac roads I don't think even if you sink 1 million into an Evo it will be able to beat the F1. Of course if it's supertwisty roads where you'll have to slide a lot the Evo might be faster, but any racetrack, no chance for the Evo I'm afraid...
