You might have a problem with your insurance also if there were an accident and the airbags were gone.

the airbag is operated by an explosive charge & it is sensitive enough to be activated by a simple static shock, unless you know 100% what your doing, id say your better off leaving it to someone who does

run your car into a wall, then pull it out after it has gone off

What I don't understand is why you would want to remove the airbags in the first place. Are you gonna do a right-side driver's conversion or something? Or do you just have a death wish?

because they protect nothing with a full 8 point cage and harnesses....they can only hurt you at that point....plus its less weight=faster
and if speed kills....your lookin at a dead man....haha

It's a real pain to remove it without taking out the entire dash. You will have to drop the ac blower and a million little screws then really squeeze to remove it. It would be a lot easier if you just take the entire dash out.

Hey sorry to bring up such an old thread but i just wanted to know how do you took out ur airbags? Also what problems might this raise if i do have a properly welded in roll cage which could possibly meets scca and nasa or maybe even FIA specs, in addition to full carbon fiber bucket seats along with 6 point harnesses both driver and passenger?

Thanks, Tim
