What would make me happy, is a machine that is as close to a tarmac-spec WRC car as is reasonable. Aerodynamics included. Why spend all that money on WRC R&D only to squander it. Look at the new WRC 04 car and the way the back quarter panels are relieved to pull air from under the car and through the brakes. If it works, put it into production. If the crazy rear wing actually works better that what we have, bring it on. Well if the Feds don't care if we can see out the back window. I think that form should follow function. Let the wind-tunnel and what's learned in racing dictate the form of the next Evo.

Nubby - The Evo 8 is already built with WRC rules in mind... one of the reasons our rear spoiler is not adjustable like on the Evo VII. My guess is that the street-legal Evo's being built by Mitsu are probably built with WRC Group N rules in mind.

Was the Evolution 8 produced with Production Class rules in mind, or were the Production Class rules created with the Evolution 8 in mind?

It will be interesting to see both how tastes and the design change over the next couple of years. I mean when the 02 WRX came out, everyone hadan issue with the headlights. But, over time people softened up. I dont mind how it looks at all but I have to agree with the earlier post about the Neon. Can't help but see an SRT-4 when I look at that pic
