If someone gave me the HID ballasts + bulb off an evo. Can i just strip the 2 wires (both black one with red tracer and one with white tracer) and plug it straight into the battery to test it? Would it turn on properly? Or is there something else to the HID system?

 

I have no idea to the answer of your question. But someone is just going to GIVE you their HIDs off the Evo?

You need that for them to fire

 

Yes you can install them there is no special trick to this, just make sure your positive stays + and neg stays - or the system wont work, i have a set on my 04'Ralliart and man what a difference.
