psi is the english unit (pound per sq.in.), bar is the metric unit. Not sure on the conversion....I'm goin with psi when I get gauges.

Yes, it does help

With my height, and the placement of the speedo dials in the dash, I can never really tell the speed I am at until it hits about 140km/h which is WAAAaaay above the speed limits here

The VSD Concept helps in that respect. Visibility is a bit obscured sometimes in the day and when there is a lot of reflection on the windscreen. There is a small piece of polaroid type film that you can stick on the windscreen to improve that, but I didn't bother with it.

I still use the BF gauges for boost, oil temp and exhaust temp. The VSD is also used to warn if my water temp exceeds the threshold.
