the bit that makes me wonder is the reliability of the fq 340
''How much more power before it all gets tragic?
After driving this 342bhp Evo, we're wondering how far you can push a two-litre turbo engine before you lose some of the driveability, or indeed reliability. All Evos come with a proper Mitsubishi warranty these days (three years and unlimited mileage). Good, as we're not sure the unit is entirely happy. We grew uneasy when three of the Evos we've recently come into contact with had fuelling problems. Stalling, great gouts of black smoke on start-ups and general fluffy response from low revs make you wonder. How long will they last when the wick's turned up?''

load of crap, many many peeps are running 380ish bhp in the UK on their Evo 8s without any problems, plenty of reserve has been built into the Evos.
Just about every motoring journo has mentioned that 340 was the very limit of what the engine could take but thats the normal journo uneducated comments.

the fact that mitsubishi is still warrantying it means that it is most likely a VERY conservative tune. I'm sure the engine is rock solid as ever.
plus none of these people complaining about it need to worry, they'll never own one.
