SRT4 can't beat a EVO VIII vid
 

I went to this site and could see how a STI and SRT4 performed against an EVO VIII.

Well that much is expected, considering the SRT-4 has less power, is a FWD car and is basically a neon on steroids.

There is a lot of other Evo 8 videos!!!

a) srt4("neon") have almost as much hp as the evo.
b) Almost as much tq.
c) Weigh 300lbs less....
d) FWD has less drivetrain loss than awd.

Stock vs Stock...its a drivers race.

I should have elaborated. It wont win from a dig (unless you bog). If its the video i think it is, they do both...again, which comes down to driver.

Well yeah it would be a drivers race, but the same is true of an evo vs a civic. The driver plays a huge part of any competition. Assuming they are both of an equal skill level, then the Evo should easily beat the SRT-4. SRT's at like 234 hp and 246 tq, while the evos at 241 hp and 262 tq. These numbers are from the September issue of Sport Compact Car. The 0-60s are 5.9 s for the SRT-4 and 4.8 s for the Evo.

An SRT-4 can beat an Evo, granted, not in stock form. If you guys hung around srtforums, you might have caught the video of an Evo getting killed, even from a dig. I'll see if I can procure the link for you guys. In case you wanted to know how badly the Evo lost, lets just say he gets a lead at the beginning, but after a few seconds the "Neon" is gone.

I think that you're stretching it with the civic bit. With that much hp difference, you could suck at shifting and still edge out a civic.

From a roll srt is lighter and has less drivetrain loss....bigger displacement...def gonna be close

We're talking stock for stock though. A Civic could kill an evo if you put like $30k into it.

Where not saying the STR-4 can't beat the EVO. We're talking stock form. My highly modified geo metro can beat an Enzo too.

i give up, go race one and report back to me...infact race 5 and take a running avg.
