Innovation and EVOlution in the aftermarket - the NEW best MBC for EVOS!

Guys, I am very pleased to announce the new FORGE UNOS MBC

http://www.forgemotorsport.com/image...cts/FMUNOS.jpg

As many of you know I have been a great supporter of the Hallman Pro MBC for some time now and I have sold hundreds of them.

Two weeks ago I recieved one of these new Forge units as a price at the WRX vs. EVO event for my runner up finish and I immediately tested it on three evos.

What I can tell you guys is that this unit is without a doubt the best working and most good looking high quality MBC I have ever seen.

Some details I like a lot about this new unit are

- The detent click action on the knob so you can count clicks when adjusting boost

- the ultra precisise and accurate adjustment

- The super LOW boost loss on stock evo turbos - this unit holds the boost longer than any other MBC or EBC I have tested to date

- The great mounting brackets and the amazing high tech apperance and design

In short - this is the best MBC you can buy at any price

AND the good news is the retail price is only $89.00!

Some data from the Forge web site

The Forge UNOS boost controller is CNC machined to aircraft specifications and incorporates a ratchet type top adjuster that will allow for the positive and precise adjustment that your driving style demands. The controller can be dash or engine bay mounted to suit your preference.

This product is a universal component, and as such, no vehicle-specific fitting instructions can be provided.

Here is some info from a press-release that I recently did on this product:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

From the Latin for “one” , the UNOS Manual Boost Controller utilizes one precisely sized and weighted stainless steel ball bearing and two uniquely progressively rated springs to increase the overall boost pressure of any forced induction system.

The unit is CNC machined under the ISO Quality Control Standard 9001 from aircraft quality 6061 billet aluminum alloy, and is highly polished to a bright luster.

The Unos Boost Controller, part number FMUNOS, includes two springs and incorporates a ratchet type adjuster to allow for the positive and precise level of adjustment required by the most demanding user and application. There is also a separate bleed hole on the outlet side of the unit utilized to prevent any unwanted tapering of boost and to prevent any damage to the wastegate or wastegate actuator.

The Unos Manual Boost Controller, part number FMUNOS is supplied two springs, generic fitting instructions, two universal mounting brackets and hardware to allow for the fitment of the unit in the engine bay, or at the desired location inside the cabin of the vehicle.

Some additional tools and hardware may be required for installation.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

And a standard disclaimer:

Please exercise caution when installing and tuning this product as it is designed and built with the intent of increasing the boost output of any forced induction system. We cannot guarantee compatibility with all applications, nor the ability to increase the boost output beyond a level that is within the parameters set by the engine management system and/or mechanical components of the given vehicle at the time of installation, whether those parts are factory or aftermarket.

Forge Motorsport nor any of it’s Authorized Distributors can assume any responsibility for any adverse effects resulting from the installation and tuning of this product onto a vehicle whose engine management system and mechanical components, whether factory or aftermarket, are not capable of allowing for the desired level of adjustment.

Mike - job well done on a great product which really impressed me with the absolutely flawless construction and performance.

When I got my prize unit I needed to sell it to a customer in Texas who was in a jam without a functional MBC. I had no data on the retail pricing - just holding it in my hands and compoaring it to the TX's and Hallman currently on the market, I guessed $150 retail and told the customer if it was less I would refund him the difference. Its a high quality piece at a very reasonable price point - a great product.

Here is a picture of it as installed on my car:

(I really hate rusty manifolds  )

I also previously had it installed on the bracket that holds the active center diff. tank on '05's, so the brackets that we include offer some flexibility for installation. Depending on where each person wants to install their unit, some modification to the brackets and/or additional tools and hardware may be required, but should be fairly simple.

Nice

sweet i want one! prolly this week ill get one...how hard is the install? any drilling involved?

sirloin1219 Aug 30, 2005 08:59 AM

does the bracket come included?

Mike@Forge Aug 30, 2005 09:03 AM

We include two brackets.

One straight one as seen in the picture, and one bent one. The bent one is the same length as the straight on but just bent 90 degrees in the middle.

Based on where I mounted mine, I drilled a hole in the bracket. Some of you may want to do the same, but it's feasible to mount it without doing so.

That will be up to each person, but the brackets are included to help in that decision.

{thumbup} to Al for helping to get these out there!

so when can i order one?

Nesiop Aug 30, 2005 09:15 AM

Does it include the large lenth of hose to mount it inside the car. I am asking because I have the UTEC and not running the ABC and I will have 4 maps eventually on my Evo and would rather not have to go outside to change my boost. I could use the mounted in the car and the Map switch to change maps. And the clicking of the boost controller would allow me to write down the amount of clicks for the increased psi.

It can be mounted inside the car, but I have not yet done so.

Currently, vacuum tubing is not included, but we can look into offer a package of it paired with the unit itself.
