Best intake that won't stall your Evo

Damn it!, I just noticed that I put "you" instead or "your" in the title{thumbdwn} I currently have BR stage 1&2, and just upgraded my turbo, cams, and alky injection. My car constantly stalls due to the BR intake, even before the new work was even performed. I have experienced total fuel-cut and electrical failure the 4 times that it has occured in the past 2 years. I am wondering if any other Buschur owners have this problem, or if any other companies intakes do the same thing to your car? What is the BEST product IYO, that improves Hp/Tq and "streetability"? Thanks for the responses!

i have the injen intake...but thats all that i have fornow....no issues

I don't think that it would stall w/ just the BR intake, maybe your cams. What are you tuning with??

Maybe I'm mistaken, but I thought the stock intake was fine as is, at least it seems that's what people here are preaching.

Stock intake is fine for lightly modded cars. I have the Injen kit and it didn't lose any power with my mods but I can't say I gained a whole lot either.
But I believe most Evo's running 10's and lower in the 1/4 mile are using some sort of intake.

Then again alot of those guys also run stand alones and eliminate the MAF and just use a good air filter onto a custom aluminum pipe to the turbo.

What kind of engine management are u using?

It has stalled on 4 occassions with the BR intake, before all this new hardware was installed. I don't want to start a flamewar between vendors, but it is being tuned by another tuner in Ohio currently. I just found another thread concerning this issue of "drivability" and stalling, and most people agree that the HKS or stock box is the best route to go, because they don't mess with the MAF.
Thanks for responding!

I am going with an Ecutech flash for now^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Maybe an EMS down the road though

ALL!!! Intakes mess with the MAF sensor only drop in filters are nondetectable to the MAFS
because they use the stock piping and does not flow any extra air from the tubing just the air form the K&N which is not much,EVEN THE HKS which i think is way over rated here.

HKS RS, worked perfect even un-tuned.

I have the BR intake w/filter.No issues at all.

From all the other Evo owners and myself I have to agree stock works great until you start to go with very aggressive Cams or turbo upgrade.
But if you get the car tuned it will run fine with most Intakes Except for the K&N typhoon (not drop in)which many Evo owners and tuners alike have had many problems {thumbdwn}

I would ask Buschur why your car is stalling. If they are no help, and blame it on your tuner, swap back to stock air box to see if the stalling stops. If it stops, there ya go! If not, you've got other issues.

I had a brief conversation with Works on this when I was talking about other things and they say that (my interpretation and words, sorry if I've gotten anything wrong; call them to get the direct info) the MAF is counting on the honeycomb design the stock intake uses.

That being said, I did NOT ask them about how to get more air in once the stock intake is too limiting.

Personally, I have the BR mass air pipe which Works does NOT recommend because of the above issue. I installed cams at the same time and have not been tuned yet and the idle and lift after aggressive acceleration creates rough idle and occasional stall. This has gotten better after the ECU learns.

That's what I've heard, anyway ...
