I am getting ready to do the 30,000 oil change i will be changing everything over to amsoil. I am wondering what the people who have the amsoil think of it i did search and there was no one that talked about the tc and rear diff. what should i put into them that amsoil makes? any info would be appriciated thanks.

I've been running their AGL Synthetic gear lube 80W-90 for the gear box, transfer case and even the rear differential for years now without any problems. Shifts bit notchy in the morning but after warm up and the rest of the day, its slick and swift...

I have 3 gallons of amsoil synthetic 80w-90 gear oil...has anyone else tried this on our gearbox?

I used Manual Transmission & Transaxle Gear Lube 75W-90 from them for a long time(Prob a good 50k miles). Worked fine without any issues. Swapped to redline and it feels slightly slightly better in terms of feeling compared to amsoil.

Mt-90?

CaptainSquirts Oct 20, 2016 07:13 AM

Correct. Also I've always had a weak 2nd gear synchro and 5th gear synchro (once in a blue moon if I don't shift right they grind) and with these oils they have never gotten worse. Probably been like this for a good 60k miles.

Every CT9a, ever.

Get ahold of AMSOIL and they will hook you up with what you need. Wont take too much time for them to direct you with their latest and greatest.

So I've always used Mobil1 (grew up with BMW's) and Amsoil. I've never had any issues with either. I do however use the OEM Diaqueen fluid for my transfer case.

llDemonll Oct 31, 2016 07:50 AM

i use amsoil for engine and transmission, diaqueen for tcase and rear diff

I also use Amsoil. Switch between Z-Rod and Signature Series depending on what I have in stock 10-W40.

Amsoil is definitely smoother in the trans fresh oil vs fresh oil. Especially when the fluid/trans is cold.

amsoil is expensive stuff, but if you have the money go for it.

Klaiceps Nov 1, 2016 12:43 PM

It's cheap compared to a rebuild.
