Don't feel gain with Test Pipe

Hi, i finally decided to put a test pipe on my evo. I put on the UR test pipe few days ago with my friends (the bolts are so hard to get off...all rusted)
Was test driving it today. And seriously, i didn't feel any significant gain at all. It did not feel louder. I do have a full aftermarket cat-back system (Full espelier) prior to the installation. Somethings wrong?

i extended the 02 wires to the bung but still throw me a CEL (on the highway). Should i try foul plug or perrin fix now?

I did do alot of my "homeworks" b4 posting ( I hesitated for a year b4 i decided to put on a test pipe)

Thx for reading this.

i felt a difference when i installed my downpipe and test pipe together..before that i just had the catback...do you have a downpipe?

It's post like this that confuse people. What your saying maybe true for you, but you're the only one. I had the same test pipe for years and it never threw a CEL. Plus we all know that a test pipe adds a good amount of flow and power for the low price tag.

I didn't feel a difference when I added my DP and TP. It was only about a 12whp gain for me, and I'm not affected by the placebo affect like so many other overzealous modders. Don't worry about it, but definitely do the CEL fix...

Yes espelier 2.75 dp prior to installation.

Your butt-o-meter isnt that sensative. I use an O2 simulator and have no problems. That rear O2 sensor is only there to monitor the efficiancy of your cat, when you remove your cat with installing something to simulate it and Long Term Fuel Trim will probably go really lean.

Yeah the gas came out from exhaust does smells...alot different after installation. (it smells already bad b4 installation)

So i should get the perrin fix? no mechanical fix right?

I keep telling people that I don't feel anything unless it is over 40 whp gain.

Exhaust mods in general need tuning to exploit fully. Part of what you are doing with ported exhaust parts, test pipes, etc. is freeing up backpressure, which allows you to run more boost and timing without detonation. Just throwing the parts on the car isn't going to show the full potential gain without tuning.

the mechanical o2 fix worked perfect on my car i would recommend it very much

maybe your butt dyno needs to be recalibrated

There are many using the UR Pipe. No one I know is ever gotten the CEL light, including me. All have gained lots pf HP by using it. I personally gained 20 WHP with it.
You are telling us that the pipe does not seem to be giving you any power, and that the light is on? Check for other problems with your car. This pipe is the best bang for the $ you can get to increase HP. And it is designed not to give a CEL.
Bolting it on should have giving you an instant kick in your butt dyno. You can feel a 20 WHP and Tq. without a dyno.

I am not sure whether I can feel my test pipe at high revs. However it makes a big difference to spool and low end grunt which I cen feel. This may just be an altitude thing though

I'm not saying the test pipe is a bad piece. It's alot lighter than stock cat and the installation was easy. I'm sure there's no leak whatsoever. We put sealants around the gaskets and all bolts are tighten very well. Heat wraps the 02 sensor wires.
I'll try to re-check the 02 sensor wiring again. (and reset the ECU) We were using a jack, and soldering under the car was kinda hard.

*We were testing it pretty hard 5-50 mph. No CEL. We shut off the car afterward, then i drove home, then on the freeway, boom CEL is on.
