Stock IX running 12's

So I have spent some time searching around, and I am finding no evidence that anyone has ever run a 12's quarter mile in a stock Evo IX. All the posts I do find, have no proof to back it up. So, anyone got any legitimate 12's runs in a stock IX?

In the Drag forum, yeah - not in Evo General.

Yeah and I would hate to see what that stock clutch looked/smelled like afterwards. It is very possible, i trapped 105 my first time out in my SE.

I believe the IX did the very best of 12.9 ET stock. There a number of things that could have helped this: weight reduction, lower tire pressure, remove/modify boost pill, etc. Do what Warr said and look in the drag threads.

it all depends on your definition of stock

Lol maybe the op is just disturbed by the fact the a stock ix is significantly faster than the nice looking X in his avatar:rolleyes: Jk but I have seen stock ix run 12's with skilled drivers and good track conditions

Two corrections:

1) The best so far is a 12.7 in an RS
2) From the factory, some of them trap plenty high enough (106-107) to get 12s even with poor driving. None of those things you mentioned are required, but remember that not all will perform the same from the factory nor do all tracks have the same conditions.

I have looked, and I cant find any factual evidence of a 12 in a stock IX. MR, RS, or otherwise. Without actual proof, I cant make a counterargument elsewhere ;) So if you guys have some sort of substantial proof, other then "My friend did it", please PM me. Also, the fastest stock report on dragtimes.com is only 13.2. That does not bode well. Nor is there any fast runs in the 12's on the local database here.

Thanks!

As long as he eats me alive with data and examples, I'm all for it.

As stated before there have been a few, and I mean a few 12 second IXs. I know your looking for proof and it is there, it's just been a topic that hasn't been brought up in a while. As far as I know and I been keep track for a while (haven't updated my list in while though since I been running out of space:( ) but there have been a few EVO IXs proof provided that have ran 12s, all the others are I saw somebody and there have been many that trap 105 and 106mph but have high 1.8s and 1.9 60fts. In reality the EVO IX driven correctly is a low 13 second car all day, but once in a while you get an awesome driver or a factory freak that cracks off a 12.

It is possible. I did this back when i first got my IX. Bone stock nothing done or removed. 12.9@106

12.7 is even better than I thought! 106-107 traps is around 250 WHP (dynojet) correct? Seems like it should have more power for those traps.
