What other cars are comparable to the Evo IX's overall performance?
Hey everyone...
I was doing some thinking. We all know that the Evolution 9 is a beast of a car, especially with modding. I had one for awhile and am ready to move on to another car. I cannot figure out what car will be able to replace it to its standards though. I have a simple question that I cannot find the answer to: Are there any cars out there in general that can compete with a modded (or stock I guess :( ) IX in acceleration and handling (especially acceleration)? Obviously there are cars that can, but I am talking within its price range. Thousands more is still acceptable, but Im not talking about tens and tens of thousands more. I just can't figure out anything that is comparable that I like. Thanks! PS - I was thinking about a WRX/STi but it isnt as much as a beast of a car. I was also thinking about an Elise but the thing just doesnt have any balls in a straight line. Nothing has convinced me yet. Need more ideas... |
Nothing Dollar for Dollar can compete with the EVO IMO.. On the street atleast!!
|
The STi is right there as the differences are very minor and the BMW 135 is close and easily modable.

Audi s4
BMW 335i/xi lotus exige STi BMW m3 e46 Accel... 03/04 SVT cobra(mustang) any LSx body car |
C5 Z06 will kill a stock Evo on the drag strip or on a road course. A C6 will do the same. Stock-for-stock, the recent Mustang Mach 1 or any other LSx-powered car will post comparable 1/4-mile times. The Terminator Cobras would be a bit faster with far greater mod potential.

thats a 70 thousand dollar car^^^

What are you talking about? You're thinking of a C6 Z06. A C5 Z06 can be had in good condition with reasonable mileage in the low $30s. The C5 is the previous generation of Corvette.

ooops,i miss read your post....yeah a c5Zo6 or even an FRC can be a monster, but it wont hang with the evo on a road corse
im thinking about selling my evo for a 99 FRC, LSX FTW!! |
If you want a more street friendly ride go with the STI. With mild mods they put down good power and won't break the bank. Plus you'll be keeping your AWD, and lose a little turbo-lag. Otherwise why fix what ain't broke ? Of course I should be the last one to talk about trading up cars ... I've done it enough myself.

If you want to step up your game..RS4 same awd pull, more creature comforts.

well...if money isnt that bigg of an issue......theres always the R35....
