Hey I'm just wondering why in the world do people try and say that they found all of these evo's for 16k or 15k, just a really low amount!! these people irratate me because its way below blue book and supposedly these cars have low miles and are awesome. Im just venting...let me know if you can shine any light on this situation w/out being a dick.

You get what you pay for.

Just think about this. If you had something worth $25,000 for example, why would you sell it for $10,000. Sure a few thousand under blue book is reasonable. But I wouldn't worry about it.

I payed $25,000 plus taxes for my '05 gsr back in late '06 with 15,000 miles. I feel I got a fair deal and am still very pleased with that.

Most 2003 evos are in the 18-22k range tho so 16 and 15 thousand are not so remarkably low that its crazy to think its possible. I really doubt the ones for less than 20k have low miles tho

Another factor is that quite a few Evo owners are young people who's parents bought them the car. They trash it for 15K miles, sell it cheap and move on to the next parental purchased ride.

Also, an Evo might have low mileage (15K to 20K) but that doesn't mean it is a good car to buy. Just ask the seller how many sets of tires they have been through. That will let you know if the car has been driven hard or babied.

Evos are meant to be driven hard, but you want to be the first one to do the hard driving on an Evo.

My SSL cost 22k with 43 on the clock and basic mods in great shape, I was willing to pay for a nice beast and am terribly happy I did.

My girlfriends car needed a PS pump and some TLC engine (looked like it was put together by a monkey mods wise) and wiring wise (gauges). Got the03 GSR for 16k with 54k miles. All the basic mods too with tuning. In great shape externally and interior wise. Mainly the low cost because the starter/ps pump did not work and I pointed out a bunch of nonsense that was not even a problem and picked the entire car apart. Simply reconnecting the starter wire solved the starter problem, good times haggling.

Those deals are out there!

Its called depreciation. Most Evos in that range are 03 Evos with 60,000 + miles.
This is normal to me.

There's a few 03's for sale around here that I would OFFER about $16k, if I wanted a project, because they are in rough shape. But they want ~$20-22k. Which is why they haven't sold in 4+ months....

Have a look at this thread. It stuck in my mind as an example of happens when an individuals shops for a used Evo solely on the basis of its price. It was the cheapest Evo he found within 500 miles.

He wasn't directing the comment straight at you, so what is the point of replying the way you did. You have to admit that there are quite a few "younger" drivers out there who do not appreciate a 30K dollar car because they do not make the payments on it. That is the point of his post...

I wish mommy and daddy would buy me a 30K car. I tired of struggleing.

It all depends on the car but I will agree you pay for what you get....

Well thank you for all the posts, you guys are right about the kids having their parents buy them a car...It just really grinds my gears hahaha

just throwing it out there so you guys see what im saying, this is my evo, im in the right or? kbb is 21,500 just on the car with the low miles
