Can't cross 25psi on a ATP GTX35R Kit
Hello!!!
I recently installed the new ATP turbo bolt-on EVO 8 GTX35R kit. The car (EVO 7) has forged .020 Wiseco pistons, Eagle rods, and crank, sotkc sized ferrera SS valves and a set of Tomei type R 270 cams. Its got the drop-in K&N filter and a chinese Greddy Style TB exhaust system. It has a ECUtek flash. My problem is that the engine doesn't want to cross 25 lbs. of boost. The car made 393whp @ 25psi. The kit comes with a 14.7psi internal gate and I got the extra froma boost tee. I tried to get more boost by pulling the vaccum hose to the wastegate actuator but no effect on boost. Any help will be greatly appreciated. I am very new to everything forum wise, but from the reading you guys are a very very informed bunch. |
check for boost leaks...you must have a huge leak somewhere.

I did a boost test up to 3 bar and everything stayed intact. I have atheory that the internal wastegate flap is being blown open by exhust pressure..... Does that make any sense?

Did you try tightening the wastegate actuator.
. |
what are you using for boost control?
are you still using stock intake? |
Try tightening the waste gate acuator. You could go with a MAP down pipe with a tial 38mm gate to control boost better.
|
what intake r u running? stock rubber one?
with the atp turbo it would seem that the stocker wouldnt work, but you said you have a drop in K&N,.. also what boost controler r u running? |
Waste gate sounds like it's being blown open, try tightening it up.
|
It wouldn't be a leak because his car would misfire or run really rich
Check your wastegate and if you don't have a boost controller I would get one. You should be able to either change out springs like the forge wastegate or get a stronger wastegate. Make sure ur tune is good got that much boost |
I try that. It does make sense!

try a boost controller and tial wastegate...
