New Full Blown 70mm cast TB
 

Not much out there on this new throttle body. Looks pretty promising and the price is right. What do you think?

Looks like the only thing I'd be worried about this is on a DD there are no coolant nipples on it so the coolant couldn't warm it up so it wouldn't be good on cold starts possibly.

They make good products but I would wait till there are some 3rd party testing to verify the gains. Unless you want to test it.

* Edit - Who needs coolant lines... It warms up the air charge and we all want the most power we can get so that is not good! :lol: I didn't notice a huge difference without them.

They sent us one for testing. I have yet to try it but I can promise you that it will not work on a stock intake manifold. I tried to mount it and there is just not enough meet to seal it up. As far as other manifolds go it should work very well. I am installing it on my car with a DI intake manifold soon.

Coolant lines are more of a headache then they are a benefit.They are not needed well unless u like warming up your intake charge.

Yea, I know they aren't a necessity, just saying it would take a little longer to get it up to temperature and cause little hiccups possibly on warm-up.

Oh boy here we go again.

We have used this with our Rev 3 Intake Manifold and experienced some pretty serious gains. In the future we will run more back to back comparisons and bring our results to the community, but for now I just wanted to share this tid bit in regards to using your OEM Manifolds.

Each FBM 70mm TB will ship with the adapter pictured below, guys running oem intake manifolds can upgrade with out hassle. On our Rev 3 we build material up around the TB flange and then port match, the process does take a bit more time and thus costs about $50 more....well worth it imho.

Possibly but not a big deal since I warm my car uP all the time.I used do it to all my dsms as well.I think tb looks good as long as it doesn't leak.

Saw one in person at AWD a month ago. It looked like a nice piece, but I was worried about sealing issues to the stock manifold...

Looks pretty damn good. With all the other bs TB's out there it is nice to see a well built one. I would consider this over a 65mm oem one any day. The price is about the same, and in my book bigger is always better :).

I hope this comes with that adapter flange as I already put in an order for one this morning to go onto my ported stock manifold. I will report back with results hopefully by the end of next week. I'm not holding my breath for 20 at the wheels though. :) As far as the coolant lines I'm rather happy to take them out of the equation.

Also keep in mind that this has no core charge. If you have a core just laying around or want to deal with the down time then going with the others that require a core would make a good price comparison. This was a big deal to me as I drive my car often and why pay $300 for the core charge if you don't have to.

Question..What turbo was used when the testing was done..Very interested in this!

Just a guess but I would think the more tame of the two graphs shown on the blog was a stock turbo setup. +17hp
