6262 w/.63ar or hta3582

Does anyone know the spool difference between the 6262 with .63ar and the hta3582. I'd really like to know which one will have a better powerband on pump gas. I'm also on a 2.3. Can you guys please help me out on this. Thank you.

I'd suggest an FP black for pump gas. No reason to take on the additional turbo lag if you aren't using race fuel or e85 imo.

3582

You would lose a lot of top end with the little .63 housing too but gain spool

My goal is 500 whp on pump only and to keep it fun

you can get that with a fp black with all supporting mods.. if you want to secure yourself to more power for later on with 93 then get the 3582 hta.

6262 spools like a 3586.. so the black kills it by a good bit. its not really a good comparison.

but as mentioned above, what ultimately effects the spool and response is the hotside parts and wheel sizes. but with quicker spool comes sacrificing top end.

I was told the 6262 with the 63ar spools a little faster than the 3586, but I really don't know. I want to get the smallest turbo that'll get me 500wheel on pump. We don't have much E85 where I live.

I don't have a ported head, intake manifold or throttle body. I do have GSC s2, springs and retainers though. Which one would you put on your car for pump gas only?

I'm shooting for 500whp on pump with the combo in my sig, and am getting tuned this Sunday. However, I have a .63 housing on my 35r so I can spool as quick as possible as opposed to the 3582 you're considering.

Can you please post your results in this thread when you can. Thanks man

I'm telling you, go with an FP black. If you are only ever going to use pump gas its a waste to go w/ anything bigger. I'd be using a black if I wasn't tuned on e85...you lose WAY too much spool with a 3582/6262 compared to a black for absolutely zero gains (unless you run on e85).

**also black is cheaper and there is now dual ball bearing

not sure if this is true, from what ive seen, most fp black pump set ups make around 450whp and most 35r/6262 sized set ups make 5-600whp on pump. i could be wrong but thats what ive found so far.

You are correct. Ive seen a standard 35r setup go up to 560whp on pump gas. Most of the fp black pump gas cars I know of are sitting between 430-450 on pump.

A ported black will run 2600, then there's the ported turbo manifold, o2 dump, etc. It's not that short of paying for a t3 setup. I've been in a 6262 .63ar car, didn't feel any lag at all. If there was lag, It didnt bother me, or I forgot about it once the power came on. The car was pulling while the turbo was spooling climbing to full boost.
