No hidden clips involved with vent visors - not the "same thing" at all. I'm just making sure that people understand that this ISN'T a no-brainer, that the clips can prove to be problematic.

Speaking of the clips for the weather stripping: Mine popped out at a track day yesterday and I can't seem to figure out how to get them to pop back in place properly. Can someone describe EXACTLY how they are supposed to go, please?

Sorry to hear that. Mine have stayed in place with many track days on the car. No, my weather stripping isn't as snug as it was, either. If you place a hunk of plastic/CF/whatever under that strip w/o any modifications to accommodate the extra mass, it's going to go back together slightly differently. Clips tend to lose their tightness, too, when they're popped. Just the nature of the piece - cheap plastic. Not sure how much they cost, but it might be worthwhile to purchase a few new ones and replace any that are giving you problems.

Bumping this thread back to life because I got a VG for Christmas. I live in Chicago and it's supposed to be in the 40's this weekend. Can I pop the stripping without fear of it cracking in the cold? Should I wait to install when it's warm? I have no access to a heated garage and it's not worth paying Chicago parking rates to do the work in a downtown garage. Thanks!

No direct experience with this, but in general plastics are obviously going to be more pliant in warmer temps, and the adhesive strip probably has a better chance of sticking permanently in warmer temps, too.

I think the vortex generator spoils the clean looks of the evo. Its looks better w/out one on. BUT it helps in aerodynamics.

It's a 3M double-sided type of tape, about 1cm in width or so.

Just installed mine today, after letting it "rock out" in the trunk w/ the padded paper wrapping, haha. W/ the JDM IX rear bumper, it really completes the rear of the car.

I just got my VG yesterday from Rexpeed, and they don't have the 3M tape already on there for you, so I have to cut the tape and apply it on the VG myself. Can someone show me a picture of where I should lay out the double sided tape? I know it's not rocket science, but I want to do it perfect...

P.S. - I'm so impatient, it's raining for the next few days, but I want to install it now!!!
