Blew the cap to my water pump
Blew the cap to my water pump
I have an 05 Lancer MR, stock with the exception of a buschur racing 3" down pipe, hi-flow cat, cat back exhaust, and a manual Boost controller. the other day i was drving fairly hard, it was a snowy day here in the O H, and all of a sudden i hear a loud pop, and the lovely smell of coolant burning. Ironically i was on the way to the dealer for a service due to squeaky brakes and rattles in the dash. I was not use to this because all my prior cars were hondas. Dropped the car off and told them that my car was smoking and that the service engine light was on. I called them later in the day and they told me that they have to order the part from Japan and that they will have my car for a while. I was pissed, how is there no support for the EVO's in the US i mean the car has been here for roughly 3 years. Anyways I was wondering if any of you have dealt with anything like that.
I seems strange that a water pump would have a compression fitted part on it, and that a hard day of driving would have built up so much pressure that it would blow. Anyways let me know if any of you have had this problem
