For some reason when I turn on the A/C, my car will not idle properly. It's like the ECU doesn't know the A/C is on and will not compensate by uping the idle.

I was told there is some sort of A/C clutch that turns on signaling the computer to up the idle (or something like that). My car idles around 1000 rpm. When the A/C is on it idles at like 600-700 rpm (and with 272s, that's not good).

Does anyone know what this might be? If you know, please explain it to me.

Mine idles at about 700-800 when I have the a/c on and it a little rough.

 

My vehicle comes very near stalling. I have friends with the same cams with no problems. I've regapped the plugs and changed the oil to be safe.
