Can anyone tell me if I have the same headlight assembly as described in this post. I have an 2005 Evo VIII. It's not an MR. I am wanting to get brighter on the low beams. They are projector lights on the lows. However looking at the back of the low beam lights (tight fit) they are I believe 9006 bulbs. That means halogen right? I'm thinking of getting the XtraLights Brand of Plug and Play Hid bulbs for the stock Evo VIII housing.

right, you have halogens unless it's an SSL or MR. just buy the plug-and-play HID kit and you're good.

+1 on the plug and play, you should have room on the stock housings to mount the ballasts as well.

Evo IX will have problem removing the headlight with the instructions above (as noted by an earlier post).

If you don't want to jack up the car and remove the PITA undertray, your alternative is removing the fender (approx 8 bolts and a few clips). Follow this writeup here.

Good luck.
