i just did a similar install, i placed the battery opposite yours(just to the drivers side of the tranny mount) to allow for more clearance for an upper ic pipe im in the process of making. . I used a hawker i got off ebay for 19$ and made an aluminum tray from flay bar(8$).
Im assuming you mixed up some of the write with a boost gauge install?

Hmmm, in my opinion and my opinion only, if you are to put in a battery, put in none other than Optima Yellow Top (deep cycle battery).....

EvoJimbo - Battery cost me $170. Here is info from their website:

The Model 800 weighs 10 lbs. and gives you an unbelievable 800 cold cranking amps! Auto racing enthusiasts and audio competitors alike have come up with some pretty creative ideas for this battery. On Board & Imported Car Battery . Smallest Battery Available . 800 Cold Cranking Amps . Fast Recharge Time .

Broken - Yes, install had some info from my boost gauge install. Used that page as template and forgot to remove the irrelevant text.

NRG - Optima yellow top is old news. Unless you plan on starting a tractor trailer, an optima is useless in car audio/performance. The specs are out there to support the new concept. Its a battery and capacitor.

Sweet. Can you post a link to their site or did I miss that? I assume the battery is small enough to accomodate custom IC piping. ie: hard pipe kit.

Yes Evilution, the smaller battery is used to accomodate hard IC piping.

Site sucks bad. The model you would be interested is the 800. It is the only one that is capable of replacing the main battery. The others are high performance capcitors only.

Enjoy!

there is no need to pay 170$ for a battery, unless you plan to get the bling bling "ice". Do a search on ebay for hawker genesis, you can get them for no more than 25$, get 2 adapter posts from portablepower.com for 8$, and you are good to go.Ive been running one for a few weeks, and know more than a few people that have been running them for years.

READ SLOWLY!

If you want a battery that serves as a capacitor, starts your car and will outlive regular batteries, the Batcap is for you. This post is informational only. This is geared for people that will upgrade their stereo and need consistent voltage/amperage. Of course if you want to take the super cheap route, use 10 D batteries
