Clutch Install

Wanted an opinion, average shade tree mechanic....would he be able to install a clutch on evo 8? Any special tools or info or tips anyone might have?

probrably, if you've ever installed a clutch in another car successfully. i'd give yourself at least 2-3 days if you haven't done it before. here's a good link for install directions.

Man thanks for the link.... that is killer write up....I have found a shop to install for 350.00 does that sound far for not having to mess with it and I can have it back in a day....Thanks again

ask them if they have ever put a clutch in an evo. if not them find a shop that has done this a few times.it is a lot of work I watched my clutch being put in and I will say a lot of work.

+1. $350 is a good price, but some places that aren't familiar will screw it up or put the wrong fluids in your TC and trans which will ruin them. at the very least give them the proper fluids and a copy of the write up. $350 sounds very low though, you sure they don't think you have a regular lancer? most places charge at least $500+.
