Remove Left Front Axle?

How do you remove the drivers side front axle. Do you have to drain the differential fluid first? Will draining the differential fluid and refilling effect the acd on an evo ix? Thanks.

The front axles connect to the tranny, not the ACD unit. The ACD unit is sophisticated but the Evo is still a FWD platform with AWD adapted to it. Drain out the tranny fluid (you can use the oem fluid, bgshift2, or amsoil as he refill fluid) and proceed to take out the axle like you would on any FWD car.
