I was wondering if anyone had loosened or removed the the three spoke shroud on the back of the steering wheel?

I have searched and found info on removing the entire wheel and airbag, but nothing on just the shroud.

I need to put a clip over the edge of the shroud that faces the back of the wheel spokes. The fit is so close that I would have to bow the plastic more than I like.

If I could loosen that up a little, it would be a big help.

The only idea I have right now would be to back off the two upper air bag allen screws and hope that it would loosen it up.

I hate to mess with this unless I know it will work.

Any of you guy been there and done that?
