How To: HKS Type 1 TT on Evo IX
This is the short version. When I searched I found a lot of info for the VIII's but not the IX's. Alot of the info wasnt confirmed either.
Using the MT-6 HKS Harness is pretty much straight forward intall on the steering column. The grey wire from the TT is going to the parking brake Blue/Red wire.
The RPM signal and the Speed Signal wires from the timer are connected like so on the ECU
First is the RPM Signal Brown Wire from the TT goes in the brown/green wire on the ECU like Pic 1
This is the Middle Harness
Now the Speed wire Blue Wire from the TT goes to the black/yellow wire on the harness like pic 2
This is the first harness from left to right
last but not least a Thanks to Sam @ SRT for the TT and the Harness...

I will have to take pics of how i did this, but if you search for installtion on the 8's its the same thing, the only reason i changed this is because of the wiring on the ecu, its different from the 8 and 9's. The RPM Signal and the Speed signal wires are different. PM me if you need help.

I have a Greddy TT and only have the instructions to hook up the VSS wire to a Evo 8 ecu. I assume i would connect it to the black/yellow wire (pic 2), is that correct? I just want to make sure.

Edited;
I don't know why my wiring was not as simple as the HKS instruction manual or this guide.
I faced some problems like TT does not counting down/working properly, Tamrac/Gravel/Snow bulbs and the Anti-Lock continuously on (My car was running okay and without these stuff being on continuously)
PLEASE TAKE NOTE:
If your turbo timer DOES NOT COUNT DOWN after you turn off the ignition, do these;
CAREFULLY cut a lil piece of the plastic(which protect the wire) off the wire so that you can see the COPPER.
Then continue to follow what Sr20kidD says in this thread about the installation. You may do the same for all connections not just for the E-brake but also for RPM and Speed Sensor (My new HKS type 1 has these extra features)
Good thing;
Better flow of electricity in and out.
Better reading for the TT (I don't know why some people would ignore the extra functions or not using them)
Bad thing;
You have to spend more time to install the turbo timer.
Have fun.
*I'm not responsible for any damage and what-so-ever because of what I wrote here, just want to help out, minimizing the headache and pain from install the timer*
