question about boost controller and boost guage

question about boost controller and boost guage
first question is about the hallman Mbc just wondering if when its screwed all the way done is it closed or open. and the second question is on the dimmer switch wires which one is the ground.

screwed out is lowest setting, screwed in is highest.

usually, i just ground my wiring to a bolt on the chassis somewhere.
