Painting Brembos how to
It doesn't look like the OP (GoBot) removed the brake pads. Looks like they're just he just masked them.
Are you guys removing them or taping over them. Also, how are you painting the backside of the caliper?

I removed my calipers and was going to paint them over. Now what do you guys use to wash the calipers clean? is brake cleaner the only solution to use? can i use simple green? Since I removed my calipers the solution I decide to use to wash it with will eventually go inside the pistons one way or another. So what do you guys think?
Thanks,
Thanks,

Removed mine and cleaned them. I took them to a body shop to get painted. i decided to not go with powder coating since the heat might destroy the rubber seal and then i would have to overhaul the calipers.
I finally finished painting mine last week. I went a different route to try and get the best prevention from heat ruining the paint. I found VHT makes a header paint that is good from 1300 deg up, much higher temp than the caliper paints they sell. They also make a satin clear coat in the same stuff. I got the flat black header paint and gave them three coats as a kind of primer. If you are going for the flat black this would be a sick choice.

I wanted to go with a shade of green. I found a color I really liked, Detroit Diesel- Alpine Green, and it was available in the 500 deg engine enamel. After giving them about six coats of that I put on the new decals and put about five coats of the clear. I really like how the satin finish came out, it might not be for everyone though.

did mine a long time ago, but def under 50. some painters tape/newspaper to mask off, sandpaper, cleaners, paint, clear. i think the most expensive part were the decals
I did mine the lazy way, and just chipped off the pink or peeling clear left over, wiped it down with rubbing alcohol (no sanding at all), and just did 3 light coats of normal clear (I used painter's touch). I don't track my car, so there won't be much heat in the brakes. It's been about 2 months and they still look great, no yellowing or anything.
This is what I ended up doing. i removed the calipers washed them and then took them to a paint shop to get them painted. I waited and waited and it has been 4 weeks and still they have not touched my calipers so i took them back and decided to install them with the new brake pads and sstl brake lines. I decided to sand them while they were on the car because it was harder to hold them while sanding. it was not a very hard thing to do. i did not paint the back side of the caliper since there was no discoloration on that side and it is not seen. I used the duplicolor acrylic enamel red and clear and purchased the right size stickers from e-bay. here are some pictures of how it came out.

That looks amazing! I plan to do some kind of crazy color to set it off as well
Does any one have a link to an ebay seller right now selling the right size high temp brembo stickers. i want to buy them right now just dont want to get the wrong size thanks
I was thinking about painting my calipers a purple color. The evo is blacked out currently with red(ish) calipers but I was to repaint them something I rarely see. So I was justwondering what would be the best way of going about this? And I'm assuming I'll need to geta new brembo lable but I hear they don't last through sessions so could I just paint it on?
