I am sure I am not the only one who hates the "Lancer Evolution" badge at the bottom and is dying to put the "Evolution VIII" from Europe there....

So, how do I pop that sucker off without 1) chipping the paint, 2) scratching the paint, 3) breaking the emblem in half and being stuck with "Cer Lution"?

I know there are no bolts, but do I need to heat it up first or will a flathead screwdriver and a cloth do the trick? Any suggestions?

 

take a blow dryer, blow on it for a bit with it, it will losen the glue then take some dental floss and run it under it, then if there happens to be any glue left on which shouldn't be, take some gunk remover stuff and just wipe a little on there amd it'll come off... also check your pm...

 

Where did you get the big european/japanese spec Evolution VIII badge? I'm curious, because I'd rather have that than the puny Lancer Evolution (plus the font sucks).

Supposedly there are some people working on getting the Evo VIII emblem from the UK. I am going to buy at least 2 for myself. From what I understand, it's about $78.

If I get more news I will pass it on here...

actually the us evo 8's are the evo 7's in japan so I just got the evo 7 emblem

If anyone tells me about a JDM "Evolution VIII" badge, I am going to smack them...

The only place I have seen the "Evolution VIII" badge is on UK cars (probably the rest of Europe, too).

 

Whoohoo, I removed the "Lancer" off my trunk last night!

It wasn't as easy as it sounds! When i peeled the emblem off, there were some gunk still stuck on the car and peeling that off was a pain in the butt.

Anyway, I'm glad it's off now.

 

you could have used a little goof off and it would come right off. that adhesive remove is the bomb!!!

 

I am currently in Turkey for kind of Vacation and evo8 is not out yet. Usually Turkey get the last ones since UK got them... They are taking orders though...

The best way I've found is to use Dental Floss - work it under the emblem. The rest goes without saying.

A great way to remove the glue w/o f*cking up the paint is Simple Green.

Does the emblem on the back also held only by glue? I know on civics its held by glue and some holes underneath the emblem, anyone taken the out?
