How to remove a defective O2 sensor, including wiring?

How would one replace a bad O2 sensor? I stripped mine pretty badly. I was going to remove it all together and replace with a new one. Anyone have experience with this?

You can go the checker auto parts(or any other car parts store) and buy an o2 socket. Then buy a new one without the harness (u can buy it with or without the harness) and wire it yourself. It is pretty easy. If it is the front o2 you might have to take out the o2 housing to take out the sensor..

If you remove the shotgun seat and center console it makes things much easier. And using the o2 socket will make life easier as well. The o2 sensor at the cat has a plug about a foot from the sensor.

so i don't need to take out the center console if i can just remove the o2 sensor from the bottom of the car (by unplugging the plug a foot from the sensor)?
