Question Designing Gauges from Scratch

I know a lot of folks are unhappy with our stock gauges in the EVO. I am one of those who would like to change them and decided to take action and design my own. I'm picking up this task as my winter project and it will probably be slowing going, since I've never done anything like this before. I've looked around the web and the companies that do this service, don't do exactly what I want to do.

My desire is to make the stock gauges look like the Blitz BLM gauges which I plan on getting.

The only step I've taken so far is purchasing a used EVO VIII gauge cluster for $175, which I'm still waiting to receive.

My budget for the project is 1K and my plan is to have enough made once I finish to sell and make my money back.

I want to document and photograph each step and post on evom to assist anyone in the future that wants to do the same.

I found these images from www.importcarpartsplus.com and think this would give me the look I want, I just need to get custom lettering and design to match the BLM guages.

I've sent an email to that site, to see if they will do custom lettering and design, but haven't heard anything back yet. But they're the only place I've seen on the web that offer the black carbon fibre overlay and the intelliglow needles. The lighting in the top pic is just simple reverse indiglow.

Does anyone know how to go about doing this?

I found this on focaljet.com Customer Focus Gauges and can see the guy is using photoshop or some type of design program to do it, but he hasn't responded to me either.

Are there any vendors out there that want to take on a fully custom job?

Would anyone be interested in buying this when I'm done?

Any input, suggestions, comments, assistance would be much appreciated.
