Hey guys,

Would anyone have instructions on what steps are involved to install the samco radiator hose kit, along with an uprated cap?
I heard that if you replace the cap, you also need to change the thermostat to an uprated one. Is that true ?

What steps are involved in doing the swap?

Swapping hoses?
1. Jack up left front corner
2. Drain coolant
3. Switch hoses
4. Lower car
5. Fill with coolant and check/fill as the car is warming up

I'm not trying to be smart about it, but that is essentially it. There is a petcock on the passenger bottom of the radiator; remove your rad cap first and have a big pan to catch your coolant. If you have any questions, please ask; I can be more specific in some way.

Where is the drain plug to remove the radiator fluid?

 

It is on the bottom of the radiator on the right side. There is a wingnut type screw on the back edge. When you back it out far enough, coolant starts to drain from the hole in the bottom. It has a stubby little 1/4" pipe so you can slip a hose on it to make things a bit less messy.
