Greddy Boost Gauge

Thought I would share the install of my Greddy Boost 52mm Gauge. Works awesome. Very fast response.

Here are some pics of where I mounted my MAP sensor, where I tapped for the boost source and where I routed the lines through the firewall. I tapped the vacuum line between the intake manifold and the fuel pressure regulator. There's a place to route wires through the firewall behind the passenger side shock tower. You just need to pull the rubber plug off.

Man, I have the same guage and it is kicking my $%^&. I am trying to wire it into the ignition harness. I have the Red 12V on the white ignition 12V line, The orange on the black and white ignition wire, and the white (lights) Hooked up to the (green/yellow)parking lights wire. I get a back light but nothing else and I know its hooked up under the hood correctly. What am I doing wrong?

Does the needle go to 0 when you turn your key to the "ON" position?

The needle doesn't do anything, the only thing the gauge does is light-up when I turn on the lights. I am beginning to think I should try to wire it somewhere else.

If your needle doesn't go up to 0 when you turn the key to the "ON" position, then your gauge isn't getting power. Do you have a circuit tester? It's basically a light bulb that lights up if there's power. That's how I'd probe around to find the right wires.

I have a multimeter and its telling me that there is 12V in the wire. Is the ignition harness the best place to link in? or would around the fuse box be better.

How did you tap your wires? You make sure all your wires have good connections? You make sure you plugged the wire into the back of the gauge well?

I tapped my wires off the ignition harness. I soldered all my wires.

I just used the wiring taps that came with the gauge... Is that the problem? Do I have the right wires connected and the taps that greddy supplies suck?

Dude, those vampire connectors suck! I never had much luck with them. The best thing to do is to strip a small section of insulation off the wire you want to tap, then put those connectors on. Otherwise, those crappy vampire taps ain't going to cut through the wire's insulation.

I'll try that, (Thats what I get for trying to follow manufaturer's instructions) If not I guess I will have to break out the soldering gun. I am hooked up to the corect wires though or am I reading the diagram wrong? The thicker white one is 12V, and the black and white one is the ignition right.

With the multi-meter, you can figure out which wire is the ignition and which one has constant power. The ignition wire will only show 12V when you turn the key to the "ON" position, whereas the constant power wire will show 12V regardless of key position.

I really don't like those vampire taps. If you really want a reliable connection, bust out the soldering iron. I solder all my wires.

I'd like to throw in one more tip. Before you do any soldering, make sure the gauge turns on when you have all the wires connected.
