I just installed a Turbo XS RFL. The car runs great intill I down shift it feels like it wants to cut off. Does anyone have this problem, and if so how to fix it.

VTA or Recirc? You might have the openings switched.

something you will have to deal with... typically you would just loosen up the set screw allowing the bov to bypass to the intake, but since yours is vta theres no use, you will just have to deal with it.

Remove VTA and install DV (or recirc whichever you prefer).

Just learn how to shift with it. Have the spring set on the softest setting and kinda "ride on the engine while slowing down" before putting it in neutral.

I know VTA is bad, but man,... whoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooosh!

Get a Forge Div Valve. I haven't had a single issue yet with mine, and others are getting good results also.

Exclamation Same Problem...

I just got the same blow off valve recently and i've been having the same problem with my engine just dying on me. I wish i could find a way to really fix it, but all i've gotten is that i just have to cope with it! If any one knows a better BOV please let me know, or if you there is a way i can fix it w/o my engine dying on me please let me know! It's an over all great BOV but i just hate the fact that it's messing up my idling!!!

I find out a way to fix it! The blow off valve comes with 6 washers which you can add to the BOV. Well since i was desperate to fix it i went and i bought 4 more washers. I first put 2 in and no air was escaping the valve, but it wasnt getting the right sound out of it. Later i took out one more washers and now it's perfect! NO MORE LOW RPMS WHICH CAUSE MY ENGINE TO DIE! My reccomendation is to put 7 washers in. I fixed my problem, maybe it'll fix yours. Good Luck.

mistu never desgined ANY of its turbo cars to be able to vent the bov. the mas air usually freaks and does funky things to the fuel map to compensate.
put the stock one back on, or buy a 1g bov kit from buschar and recirc it like it is ment to be

you guys need to understand how the MAS works and what VTA does when you still have a MAS.....
- Your air is being measured by the MAS before the BOV... when you VTA you are loosing air that was already measured and the ECU has already calculated and offset how much fuel is needed... when you VTA you are taking that much less air in but you are suppling the same amount of fuel that the ECU told it too with the amount of air the MAS read... so what happens is you run pig rich at that point and end up stalling.....

the only way to fix the problem your having is put in a stand alone like the AEM.... or put in a DV like the stock or a greddy or forge....
hope this helps you out

i work for a shop and we deal through turbo xs alot. they have been telling us not to order the type h rfl's because they are having problems like you have stated with them. they are working to fix it but using the normal type h is reccomended. trust me the regular type h is loud.

from what i was told and understand i guess the only way we can run the VTA bovs is if you get a new ECU that runs off of a Map Bar sensor instead of the Mass Air Flow sensor, so if u wanted to spend the $1600 for an AEM to make yur woosh loud without stalling plus be able to change just about every charachteristic of tuning in the world, do it, i am but its just a number of reasons on top of each other to make me want to go with a Stand Alone
