General maintenance question

Is it a good idea disconnect the negative side of your battery before you do any work to your motor?

Generally you'd want to disconnect the battery cables when your doing any work to the car.. An accidental short, cutting something, etc.. could do damage.. Though its VERY rare, it would be a good idea.
