You seem to have the same mood that I have. There really isn't anything spectactular that you can do to maintain your car. I although do think that a oil change every 2500 miles using OEM filter, is a great way to maintain it. Once it gets warm enough out I plan on switching to redline fluids for the drivetrain and the radiator. I would def. think about a K&N washable air filter, the last you will ever buy!

I also feel that proper tire maintaince is key to the best performance. Don't be afraid to replace your tires if they 40% or less tread. A tire performs its best when it is new.

Best of Luck!

Here is my .02 cents. You worry about warranty isssues, so that basically limits the many of items you can put on. The K&N filter is the starter route. They have a drop in or the entire "Typhoon Kit". AEM also has a great air intake kit (50 state legal also). Get a turbo timer to help longevity of the turbo. And it may be a good idea to get an after market recirculating blow off valve (BOV). A nice cat-back exhaust should do the trick for freeing up some horses. The new issue of "Sport Compact" had an article on some upgrade mods on the Evo with HP and Torque gains. YOu should check it out. Hope this helps a little. Have fun with it.

Where does it have that? I have the new issue in my car... I'm not saying it doesn't i'm just asking. I thought they only had dyno readings with some tuning done by vivid or vishnu or something.

Feb. 2004 issue page 129 is where they talk about these uprgrades. It looks to me that 510 was looking more for maintaining his car rather modding. Although correct me if I'm wrong 510.
