Column mounted boost gauge question

I've been wanting to mount my boost gauge to the steering column and have seen quite a few pictures, but I always wondered how is the mounting cup staying on the column? 3M tape, or hose clamps around the entire column. If it was hose clamps should I paint them so they sort of blend into the color of the dash? What do you guys think???

Most are secured by fasteners (screws). Is there any particular pod you had in mind?

Hey Justin, I have the Buschur pod. I think its made by autometer.

For the mount part on the holder it doesn't have a flat surface it is rounded at the bottom at about a 15 degree angle.

By the way any word yet on that stuff or are they playing the wait game???
