Hey guys, I am looking to get my Evo by end of august.

And I think we should get a Used Evo guide going.

So we all know what to check for during a drive with one.

I am sure a Used Eclipse GSX guide will cover 90% of it.

Mainly I guess you will be checking for driveline noises, mainly clunks and whines.

And checking the oil for sludge.

Any of you guys know what the main problems have been with the evo and would like to include them here?

 

Smell the oil, some people are reporting fuel contamination of their oil. If you are willing to wait for analysis time get yourself an oil sample. That is the best way to check engine health. Tire wear is a major issue on the stock rubber, so if it has stock tires they are most likely needing replacement if the car has 15,000 miles or more.
